Wakefield

VOX
VOX is the Community Empowerment Network for Wakefield District and works with partners to connect and support the rural communities in the District.
VOX’s role is to help community groups and individuals within the rural area of Wakefield to come together with statutory partners, like the Police, NHS and Council, to identify concerns or issues but also to network, share ideas and support the development of new initiatives in their respective area.
In helping to bridge the gap between rural communities and those in the urban areas, VOX provides appropriate, accessible and easy to understand information from all the organisations that provide services in Wakefield District. Through this information we are able to help people become aware of the different decision making bodies and in turn have an influence where they can.
A further key part of our work involves building a rapport and link with grassroots communities and individuals through local organisations, community groups, schools, churches and Town and Parish Councils. By working with both the community and statutory partners it is hoped we can create stronger, vibrant and more effective communities.

Community Led Planning
A community-led plan is a community's own vision for its future and an action plan on how to achieve it. Community-led plans allow rural communities to make themselves heard and initiate actions to improve the quality of life locally.
