Leeds

In Leeds Metropolitan Area, the RISS project is being delivered by Leeds Voice and Voluntary Action-Leeds using the strengths of these two organisations to support groups in rural areas.

Leeds Voice is the Community Empowerment Network for Leeds, supporting and representing the voluntary, community and faith sector at decision making structures of the Local Strategic Partnership.

We...

  • facilitate representation through forums and networks helping community groups and organisations share, and act upon, their views.
  • help organisations and groups to participate in consultation and decision making that will affect their service delivery as well as the life of their communities.
  • help smaller organisations get involved at a local level.
  • enable the sector to get their voices heard through training, workshops, events, e-news, research and publications.

This particular project allows us to expand our services to communities in rural areas. So far we are developing work with groups in Otley, Pool in Wharfedale and Kippax. If you would like to get involved or get more information do not hesitate in contacting us. We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Community Led Planning

A community-led plan is a community's own vision for its future and an action plan on how to achieve it. Community-led plans allow rural communities to make themselves heard and initiate actions to improve the quality of life locally.
