Community Matters
Community Matters provide a range of information, advice and training services to organisations running community buildings. We also provide a quality assurance mark for community associations called visible which is endorsed by the Charity Commissioners, Local Government Association and Office of the Third Sector. More recently we have been involved in advising on asset transfer matters. This usually involves a community organisation taking control of a community building either through purchase or the granting of a long lease which then gives the association greater control over the uses to which a building can be put.
If anyone out there is running a community building and needs advice, information or support please contact Ann Hindley on 01724 710819 or e-mail: ann.hindley@communitymatters.org.uk
Calderdale Community Forum
Calderdale Community Forum (CCF) is a network of Third Sector groups and organisations within Calderdale. CCF provides a voice for the Third Sector to articulate the views of the wider community effectively, in a climate of equal partnership with statutory and other partner agencies.
Calderdale Community Forum is please to be working in partnership to support the Rural Infrastructure Support System project. We aim to do offer this support in the following ways:
Through ensuring that rural groups have the support they deserve and that support is delivered in appropriate venues in rural areas of Calderdale. To help us achieve this we will be holding a series of events across rural Calderdale. We encourage any rural Voluntary and Community Sector organisation to come along and find out how we can support your organisation to have a greater say of over the decisions that affect your work.
The events will give groups working in rural areas of Calderdale the opportunity to
- share information and good practice
- support each other
- provide a "voice" for rural groups
- influence local decisions
- develop services
- learn about new ways of funding
- link into the West Yorkshire, Yorkshire & Humber picture
For more details about our events and about the work of the CCF please contact Jayne Leech on 01422 431095 or e-mail: jayne@calderdalecommunityforum.org.uk
Community Led Planning
A community-led plan is a community's own vision for its future and an action plan on how to achieve it. Community-led plans allow rural communities to make themselves heard and initiate actions to improve the quality of life locally.
